Sk8 Benefit for Neighborhood Pets
Skateboard Art and Punk Rock Valentine’s Day Benefit
I have an event coming up this Valentine’s Day. I was invited to create artwork for one of the skate boards in the second annual Sk8 Art Show at B Side. It’s a benefit to raise funds for Neighborhood Pets, who help families be able to afford and keep their pets. All skate boards are decked out in art by local Cleveland artists. All boards sold will benefit Neighborhood Pets. In addition, there will be bands playing upstairs at The Grog Shop, also raising funds for the benefit.
Love Cats - walnut wood stain, acrylic paint, and wax
I chose a cat theme, since I’m a cat-lady. Cats are pretty slinky and sexy to begin with, so it wasn’t hard to figure out a Valentine’s theme. And since there’s a slight undertone of anti-valentine at this benefit show, I leave it up to the viewer to decide if these cats are fighting, or passionately embracing. I used a still from Dracula as a reference image.
Bands: Muzzle, Mr. California, Ringer, Non Bruises
