The Oracle Project -An Unnamed Deck

Images from the Oracle Project

I'm excited to share with you the process of creating a new oracle deck. I'm creating the imagery for this divination set through the use of my own hand-crafted black walnut ink. As I carefully craft each card, I hope to offer a meditative aid to anyone who uses this deck. Whether it be for soul-searching, story-telling, or self-reflection, my goal is to create something that allows the viewer to connect with their inner story and gain clarity on their journey.

Apotheosis In Progress

A small piece from a small studio. Using black walnut ink has been a very satisfying medium for this project. Natural inks are also cost-effective, and almost free. If you’d like to try your hand at making ink, I shared my recipe for you to try.

The Oracle Project is a creative and profound endeavor for me. Through my process, I can connect with my past experiences and my intuition to create something very personal. As I work on this project, I'm reminded of the importance of storytelling and how powerful it can be. I'm also drawn to the magic of symbols and how they can help us make sense of our lives. Each card will have my own take on the characters and archetypes they portray. By creating this deck, I hope to provide aid for anyone who is seeking clarity or insight.

Rook. The first card in the Oracle Project

Rook

The first card in the Oracle Project was a catalyst for starting this series. I didn’t realize I was going to make a deck when I was painting this image. The Rook came about after noticing crows visiting the backyard and making a racket. They would come often, hollering from the rooftop. This observation resonated with me after experiencing a loss.

In experiencing the creation of Rook, I began exploring the idea of synchronicity and how it can be portrayed through art. It’s a fascinating concept and I’m eager to see what comes from it. As I continue on this journey, I'm excited to see how this series evolves and what discoveries I make along the way. For this reason, I’ve decided to wait until the deck is complete before I give it a name. I’ll continue to post the cards as I make them here.

The process of creating this work has been an adventure of magic, mystery, and serendipitous revelations. I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journey of spiritual growth and self-discovery. This project will be a reminder that we have the power to create our own destiny and that sometimes the answers we seek are already within us.

Fine Art Prints Are Available

For a limited time, fine art prints are available of The Oracle Project. As I progress, I’ll make more prints until I complete the deck. Once the deck is completed, fine art prints will no longer be available. You can see what prints are available in my Print Shop.
