Lore Watercolor Paintings

I’ve been wanting to use natural Earth pigments for a new series of paintings so I decided to dig into the lore of my ancestors. I started with a diptych of one character, Frau Perchta. The folklore behind this character originates with the Goddess Berchta, aka The White Lady. They are one and the same, two sides of a coin. One glowing ancient glowing deity and her flip side of fear and darkness. I wrote a piece here that explains them more in depth. This is the beginning of a series based in folklore, I’ll come up with a better name as this project progresses.
